Moderating in the Post View

Teachers can moderate student posts inside the individual post view. To see this view (which includes the entire contents of a student post, identity profile, or comment), click the title of that item in the Activity Feed. The post view of the item will open in a shadow box.

Teachers also have a few extra options in the post view. In addition to being able to interact with posts, teachers can also click Options button to Edit a post, View teacher feedback, or Flag a post (lead teachers only).

Edit: Click this button to make an edit to the post.

Tip: Use this feature sparingly. It is always better to allow a student to make changes. Changing a writer’s words is like stealing their voice. Edit simple things like a missing letter or obvious typing error.

View Teacher Feedback: Click this button to view the feedback you've submitted on this post. Remember: only you and the student who wrote the post can view this feedback.

Send Message: Click this button to open a Create Message window and send a message to the student who wrote the item.

Flag: Lead teachers will have a Flag option, allowing them to flag a post for removal. Clicking this button will send the post back to the teacher who approved it for further moderation.
