Mentions Overview

Mentions allow you to reference another identity or community member in your post or comment. When posted, mentions will send a notification to the user you mentioned. Who you can mention depends on your community settings (see note below). 
 
You can mention an identity or member of your community by typing the @ symbol in the post or comment box and either typing their identity name or real name and hitting the return key, or selecting from the auto-complete list of all the identities in your community. 
 
Important: In communities that are set to display identities only, you can only mention other identities (not real names of individuals). In communities that are set to display real names, you can only mention real names. In communities set to display both identities and real names, you can mention either.
