Blocked Tags

Tags can be blocked by the MySciLife administrator. Blocked tags do not show and are not searchable, but it’s important to understand how blocked tags function. Anytime a teacher submits a tag on a post, it will be added to the post regardless of whether it is blocked or unblocked. If the tag has been previously blocked by the administrator, it will not show on the post or be searchable, but it will be saved to the post (albeit invisibly). This way, if a tag is unblocked, it will show again and be searchable.

Students cannot add a blocked tag to a post, as the auto-complete list will not show blocked tags as an option. If a student adds an unblocked tag to a post and that tag is subsequently blocked by the administrator, the tag will still saved to the post (invisibly) so that it will reappear if the tag is unblocked.
