Archive a Community

Archive a Community

Archive a Community

Archived Communities contain all of the information from that school year in read-only format. This includes posts, comments, and all uploads, including the Community Library. Teachers can archive individual, private communities on their own. The MySciLife administrator can also archive entire versions (school years of the platform)—these platform archives usually occur July 1.

Tip: Because of this periodic archiving, we recommend that teachers upload library items that they’d like to use in future years and classes into their Personal Library.

To archive a Community, navigate to Manage Communities in the Teacher Tools menu and click Archive next to the Community name and access code you wish to archive.

When a teacher or administrator archives a Community, that Community’s content is moved to the Archives section of MySciLife for all users in that Community and the Community name is removed from the Community menu. The library associated with that Community is also removed from the Library slider.

See the Libraries article for more information.
